Memorial Day 2009

My first blog post. Many thoughts rambling around my brain, but I'll keep it short for those of us with ADD. I'm not actually diagnosed with ADD, that's just a joke in my family. It's just that I have so many interests, that I tend to hop from one to another leaving things in mid-air.

Knitting: Many projects on the needles, but I'm mainly doing baby knitting as my almost 40-year old son and his partner are expecting a girl in September. Almost finished with Mason-Dixon's log cabin blanket, and knitting two hats from Itty Bitty Hats by Susan Anderson. Next up the Baby Surprise Sweater in peaches and creams. Our guild is knitting the February Lady Sweater this summer, so I'll knit along. Already have some green Wool of the Andes from Knit Picks for that project. Many other projects on the needles--remember that ADD syndrome.

Reading: Angels and Demons by Dan Brown and Murder is Binding by Lorna Barrett. You'll often find me reading several books at once. I love mysteries, but I venture into other genres on occasion.

Writing: A major rewrite of completed manuscript and about 60 pages into two other manuscripts. All mysteries.

Life: Concerned over the health of my 89-year old mother. She has a rare disease called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP for short). If you're interested, you can google it--not a pretty outcome. Recently, she fell and broke a vertebrae in her back. She's currently in a rehabilitation center in Bloomington, IN, my birth town. Stressful being so far away.

A quiet Memorial Day celebration at Chez Martin. Hubby and I will watch the Indy 500--a Hoosier tradition--and he'll then watch the NASCAR race. I'll be knitting and reading and whatever during that race. NASCAR and racing in general not my thing.
